Geography of Paraguay
Paraguay is located in the center of South America, between the parallels 19.1 and 27.36 degrees South Latitude, and between the meridians 54.19 and 62.38 degrees West Longitude and its territory is crossed by the Tropic of Capricorn.

With a total land area of 157,048 square miles, its territory is separated by neighboring countries, except Bolivia, by natural features. Thus, it shares its northern border with Bolivia, which it is separated from by an imaginary line that divides the Paraguay River and ends in the Pilcomayo River, passing through the following principal landmarks: 12 de Junio, Cerro Chovoreca, Coronel Sánchez, Cerro Coronel Cabrera, Sargento Rodríguez and Teniente Escobar; it is bordered by Brazil to the north and to the east, by the Paraguay River and the Apa River, the mountain ranges of Amambay and Mbaracayú and a piece of the Paraná River; to the south and to the west, it borders Argentina, by the Paraná River, the Paraguay River and the Pilcomayo River.
